This approach empowers the community, inspires the villagers to participate in public affairs in the future, and encourages the villages development in the long run. The construction of Dawga-Cad road which links Hargeisa to the coastal and sub-coastal areas below the Golis Mountains of Bulahar, Eilsheikh, Lughaya and Zeila districts is one of the Community Initiated Cost Sharing projects which is going on now in the country. This project is for upgrading of 125km road from earth to bitumen standard including culverts and bridges. So far the community contributed the construction cost of 5km long while the Somaliland Government contributed the cost of 2km long of the road.
